Die umstrittene EU-Richtlinie zu Softwarepatenten ist vom Tisch. Das Europaparlament wies den Gesetzentwurf zurück. Große Konzerne hatten die Patentrichtlinie gefordert, kleine Unternehmen hatten sie gefürchtet.

Die NY Times verkündet die Demokratisierung von Inhalten und Wissen. Nicht File-Sharing und Musik-Piraterie sind die wahre Herausforderung für Hollywood. Nein, von Benutzern generierte Inhalte werden in Zukunft direkt mit den Angeboten kommerzieller Inhalteproduzenten in Konkurrenz treten. Die Rede ist vom «kreativen Prozess von unten», von Partizipation und Zusammenarbeit und von der Erschliessung des kollektiven Wissens. NY Times nennt die bekannten Beispiele und versucht, sie in einen grösseren Zusammenhang zu setzen: Flickr, My Web von Yahoo, Google Earth und Google Maps, Technorati, del.icio.us und das Online-Game spore.

Geniale Sache, von dem Amateurfunker VE1VAC (creative commons): If you are musically inclined you might find that you can learn the rhythms of Morse characters by listening to music. Here is some music (I use the word “music” in a rather loose sense!) which you can use as part of your learning process. In truth, no one is going to listen to this stuff for its compelling musical qualities - but that’s not the intention!
What to do with it
Here are some ways you might use it:
Listen to it in the car on the way to work
Listen to it while browsing the Internet
Listen to it while reading a book
Listen to it (quietly) at night while you’re sleeping! (Yes, this does work, for some people at least!)
The key thing is that you don’t have to consciously pay attention to it to benefit from it. Just play it on a loop in the background, and let your subconscious brain absorb it. For more active learning, tap your fingers along with the morse for each letter while saying the letter name out loud. Don’t blame me for any strange looks you get on the bus.

Nachdem Apple Podcasts in seine Musiksoftware iTunes integriert hat, explodiert die Nachfrage: Über eine Million neue Podcast-Abonnements wurden in zwei Tagen abgeschlossen! Und an neuen Ideen herrscht in der Szene kein Mangel:
